Amanda Gorman is an example of inspiration to others who are going through one problem or the other. This lady is the youngest poet ever to recite at presidential inauguration. It is so surprising to learn that Amanda had once battled with speech impediment while growing up.

While this 22-year old lady may not have become popular, she’s about to become much better known. She follows in the footsteps of Robert Frost and Maya Angelou to recite the inauguration poem in D.C.

Gorman is the youngest person to be ever given this platform. Her story is similar to Angelou, who had speech impediment as a little child. Joe Biden also grew up with a stutter. While Gorman was growing up, she found it difficult to say certain letters, especially letter ‘R.’

However, Amanda Gorman didn’t allow that to hold her back. The Harvard graduate made sure she didn’t get discouraged by her problem. Although she battled with speech impediment, Gorman was able to overcome it. The talented young woman has plans to run for a president, so you can expect more from her.

I think there is a real history of orators who have had to struggle, a type of imposed voicelessness, you know… So it’s really special for me.
