When the Coronavirus pandemic struck, Virginia Sharp who owns a small boutique knew she had to continue paying her bills, so she decided to develop new ideas.
This she achieved by transitioning her sales to social media which will get to everyone even the masses. She started her live fashion shows every Friday night using different themes every week, and this turned her business around.
Her first was three months ago – “White Party”, then came others like Girl’s Trip, a Yacht Party, and then a Coffee Chat. Soon, Virginia Sharp discovered an online niche, and it has generated a lot of sales from new customers even from far away Alaska.
A large fraction of her business now focuses on packing up boxes to be shipped all through the country “Our community is loving the live theme shows on Facebook,” Virginia Sharp revealed during an interview with GNN.
While growing up, Sharp has always expressed her love for fashion and has dreamt of becoming a model, but this was not approved by her parents, so she decided to take on her mother’s career path and worked as a nurse for three decades. However, this didn’t stop her dreams of owning a cute shop someday.
Although I was in the medical field, I chose a position which still allowed me to be a fashionista because I was a nurse liaison who could dress and visit the hospitals and evaluate patients for acute and subacute rehab. That’s how I built my customer base because everyone knew me by the way I dressed. I fell in love with nursing after being pushed into it, but I never stopped wishing to one day own my own business…I believed I could so I did!Virginia Sharp
Sharp has promised that her virtual fashion shows held on her Facebook page will continue even of her shop is up and running again.
It’s exciting to see what we’re going to do next, Another reason for wanting to grow more nationwide is to encourage and inspire others to follow their dreams. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you. Do what you love and the money will follow. Never give up!Virginia Sharp during an interview with WMAZ News.
