Veteran's day

This Veteran’s day will be different as military veterans and the immediate relatives of fallen service members will be granted free entrance to any national park. US veterans will have the opportunity to visit the most iconic wonders in the nation.

This Veteran’s Day will be coming up on November 11  and Gold Star Families and US veterans can visit the Yellowstone, Yosemite, or the Grand Canyon without paying a dime. US parks feature both natural wonders and historical ones.

There are several historical wonders like forts and battlefields in dozens of states, Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace in Kentucky, and Frederick Douglas home in DC among others. About 2,000 public locations across over 400 million acres of lands host several activities like biking, fishing, hiking, climbing, paddling, hunting, etc.

Ensuring that they are able to enjoy all of the wonders of the country that they’ve served is one small way of saying thank you.” said U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley

We all know the positive effects of spending time with nature, scientists have revealed that doing this can help to lower the level of the stress hormone cortisol. Therefore, this recent initiative from the Department of the Interior would impact the lives of thousands of people across the nation.
