People have been praising a U.S Capitol police officer for intelligently steering protesters away from the Senate chambers during the riot that took place last week.
In the footage, officer Eugene Goodman was seen just a few steps ahead of rioters. They were all waving Confederate flags and yelling at him as they pursue him inside the U.S Capitol building.
Risking his life, the U.S Capitol police officer covertly lured the intimidating rioters in the opposite direction.In the video uploaded on the internet, Goodman was shouting “second floor!” into his radio.

He alerted other USCP officers that the mob was heading towards the chamber area and the people who are in there. A few minutes later, authorities sealed off the chamber in a bid to ensure the safety of everyone hiding inside.
Goodman who is a veteran of the U.S Army is being commended for his courage and decisive action in what must have been a harrowing situation.

Members of Congress plan to reward Goodman with the Congressional Medal of Honor for his work. Goodman is really a brave man. It only takes courage to do what he did.
