The US President has signed a proclamation to prohibit any travel from India and this ban will come into effect on May 4. This is as a result of the high surge in the cases of coronavirus in India.

Kamala Harris, the US vice president, talked about the travel ban placed on India and how the White House will help India fight this battle.

It is important to note, as I said earlier, that we have a responsibility as the United States in particular, as it relates to the people that we have partnered with over the years, to step up when people are in a time of need.

Harris said in a statement she made on Friday
