The EPA’s website has finally reopened and made climate change its priority after it was closed down for four years. The climate change web page is now back on the website of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The agency now offers information about how climate change can affect the lives of Americans on its website.

During President Trump’s administration, there wasn’t information about climate change on federal websites as Trump termed climate change a “hoax.” The reopening of EPA’s website is good news to the public as a whole. Information about climate change is important this time around considering the lack of information about it on the internet.

Environmental advocates, teachers, and scientists are all happy about the reopening of the EPA’s website. A co-founder of Moms Clean Air Force maintained that moms teach their children the importance of science, hence, they are so pleased that the agency that addresses climate change issues is reopened.
The website has included new features that can help viewers understand climate information. It is also linked to interactive charts and maps in which visitors can click through to know more about the emissions of greenhouse gas and how that planet-heating pollution have an impact on the people and the environment.
This is a huge turnaround from what happened during Trump’s administration. According to Ex EPA staff, Environmental justice efforts were ignored at that time.
According to the Environmental Data and Governance Initiative (EDGI), the term “climate change” was 40 percent less used across environmental agency websites during Trump’s tenure. Even access to the website of the EPA was lost during his tenure.
