Texas Women’s shelter has received help from Prince the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They helped a Texas Women’s shelter, Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, after it was seriously vandalized when the winter storm occurred in the state.

Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support helps nearly 3,700 women and children who are in terrible situations and have been domestically abused. Most women who have been abused find help in this place.

However, the building of this organization was severely damaged amid storm Uri and this includes transitional housing, offices, and a school. These led to a lot of damages, furniture got destroyed,  pipes burst, and a roof caved in. The Dallas-based facilities had to be shut down.

Fortunately enough, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex received news about the damages. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to donate through their nonprofit the Archewell Foundation. They have been replacing damaged roofs and repairing some damaged property in the women’s shelter. Harry and Meghan, the present Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been supporting this women’s shelter since they gave up Royal duties officially.

“Not only will this gift provide for our critical needs. it shines an international spotlight on violence against women and children, letting survivors know that they are not alone.

Jan Langbein, CEO of Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support

Meghan and Harry reconfirmed their commitment to philanthropy this month. This duo has been helping a lot of people and they have donated a lot to charity. Storm Uri affected millions of people in Texas as they lost water and power after this storm began on February 11.
