Smartwool, a textile company is now recycling old socks into Dog beds. Socks are one of the clothing people trash away easily. These old socks are now being recycled into a new form of clothing for dogs.

Smartwool is a brand based in Colorado that designs baseball caps, base layers, and leggings. This brand is reputable for producing high-quality wool socks. —basically every apparel item you could want for an active day out in nature.

Starting from May 2, people can start dropping their old socks in the bins of retailers in 42 different states. To mail these socks to Smartwool, you will have to purchase something from its website.

According to a survey carried out by this textile company, more than 80% of respondents said they recycle their used clothing while 91% of respondents maintain that they trash away over 1 pair of socks every year. This contributes to about 11.3 tons of textile waste in landfills per year.

There is obviously an urgent need for a recycling solution in the sock category, which is where we’re focusing our initial efforts.
