Selma Blair is very happy for recovering from multiple sclerosis after she, for the first time, successfully rode a horse since she was diagnosed.
The actress, 49 years, revealed how the disease affected her central nervous system back in 2018, and how it affected her body and brain. On Friday, through her social media, she shared some positive updates about her recovery.
Selma Blair, in a video of her on a horseback said:
I did it. I stayed still and riding. A huge deal. Really proud I am recovering and learning and focusing. At least on my beloved horse Mr. Nibbles, with Kelly training my body and confidence.Selma Blair
A post culled from August 2020 revealed that one activity Blair really missed during her MS journey was horseback riding. And though, she was recovering well, she revealed that it has been difficult for her getting back on the saddle.
We managed to get it together to have a few minutes and I could not stop smiling. I can’t feel my left leg, or where my hips are. I break down and freeze when exhausted. We took it slow. I didn’t criticize my equitation too much.Blair
Blair also expressed how frustrated she was with her progress and revealed that while dealing with this disease, it was like a point of realization.
I am a mess with MS. I was told I would be jumping in a year when I was first diagnosed. I believed and have had shame I haven’t pulled through for the rest of us. I will always have MS, I now see. Always. But I am going to learn how to use this body, brain and emotions.Blair
Almost a year later, Blair has shown how her ambition has been realized. In a recent video posted by Blair, someone commented: “THIS IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT!!!” “I am so happy and proud of the hard work you’re doing.” Another person wrote: “This is amazing! You look so wonderful and graceful,” wrote another.
