The high surge in coronavirus cases in India is becoming alarming and for these patients to gain quick recovery or survive, they need Oxygen. With the growing number of cases, there is a high demand for Oxygen.
On a norm, Reliance industries doesn’t produce liquid-like oxygen in their factories. However, this giant company owned by Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India, has been producing oxygen in large quantities since pandemic began. So far, the company has supplied more than 55,000 MT of medical-grade oxygen, making it the biggest producer of oxygen in India.
Reliance is now manufacturing 1,000 MT of liquid oxygen in its facilities, meeting the demands of 1 in 10 coronavirus patients. The decision to produce high-quality liquid oxygen wasn’t a difficult thing for reliance as the main facility was already constructed for refining and liquid oxygen.
Nothing is more important than saving every life as India battles against a new wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.Mukesh Ambani
To produce medical-grade oxygen, it must be in liquid form at -183°C with nearly 99.5% purity, making it difficult to produce and minimize tonnage. Ambani says he is proud of his engineers who ensured they achieved this great feat.
