On the 14th of August (UPI), a woman from Nebraska who scored a lottery jackpot worth $128,000 revealed how she almost missed the prize as a result of the deadline set for buying a lottery ticket.
Omaha’s Stacey Elmborg revealed to the Nebraska officials that she arrived at the supermarket of Baker at Lakeside Hills Plaza few minutes before the deadline time at 9pm to purchase her lottery ticket for the Nebraska Pick 5 drawing held on 8th August.
Elmborg said she was so worried she would miss the deadline, so she went to the customer service counter only to discover that the counter had no clerk to attend to her.
The clerk, who happened to assist another customer to pack their groceries, came in just at the right time to help Elmborg purchase her ticket. A little more delay and Elmborg would have lost this great win.
The ticket of Elmborg bore the birthday numbers of her family 9-14-17-19-22, which ended up becoming a $128,000 winner. What a big moment for her! According to the winner, she plans using her winnings to get a new apartment where she will live with her son.
