A team visited St. Peters organization to plead on behalf of a mum and two kids that were recently evicted.
Melissa was so emotional when she and her kids were evicted from their homes in Jefferson County. She revealed that she offered to make part payment of the rent, but the landlord refused. She said that due to the pandemic, she couldn’t find house cleaning work and she had no where else to go. Out of desperation, she had to call ‘You Paid For It’.
The ‘You Paid For It’ team had made plans for an interview with an organization – St. Peters that comes to rescue those with housing problems, which includes evictions.
The Community Council gets its funding from St. Charles County, as well as other provate and government organizations. It assists folks majorly in St. Charles and Warren and Lincoln counties.
This organization decided to assist Crader, who is from another county – Jefferson County. This council coordinates over 100 agencies to assist folks in distress.
In the case of Crader, they reached Jefferson county groups that got a motel for her and her kids. The organizations are now planning on their next line of action for permanent housing.
