Vaccinated Americans are now at a low risk of contracting coronavirus while travelling, according to the director of CDC.

It was disclosed on Friday by the director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that Americans who have received vaccines against coronavirus are at comparatively low risk while they are traveling.

However, there is the necessity to wear a mask. Whenever they are traveling locally or internationally, they must wear their masks.

The federal health officials disclosed on Friday that wearing a mask would help control the spread of COVID-19 to others.

Walensky disclosed to reporters on Friday during the White House news conference that Americans should still follow existing recommendations on traveling related issues. Americans have been advised not to travel at all, except there is a need to.

The federal health officials are bothered about the effect of easing restrictions since the case has increased in previous weeks. Scientists have not been able to ascertain if vaccinated Americans can become infected or transmit the virus to other people. However, a study by the CDC recently suggested that it may not likely happen.

Since it has not been proven if vaccinated people may become infected, public health officials are of the opinions that it would be unsafe for vaccinated citizens to act carelessly.

Dr Walensky, the director of CDC stated on Friday that there is a growing body of proof which suggests that if vaccinated, traveling may be lower risk.

It was predicted by scientists some weeks back that in late March, there could be an increase in the number of infections. This is owing to the increase in virus variants in different parts of the country.

However, President Biden urged Americans to continue to adhere to instructions given by health officials. It was stated by the CDC that vaccinated citizens don’t have to quarantine after returning from their travels.
