A research conducted in German revealed that being around different breeds of birds can increase life satisfaction. Data from the European Quality of Life Survey was used to evaluate how several birds had an effect on 26,000 people in different European countries.
According to our findings, the happiest Europeans are those who can experience numerous different bird species in their daily life, or who live in near-natural surroundings that are home to many species.the study’s lead author, Joel Methorst
Professor Katrin Böhning-Gaese at Goethe University evaluated the socio-economic information of the people surveyed and it was discovered that avian diversity is vital for life satisfaction just as income is important for life satisfaction.
Researchers observed Colorado hikers in another study in California Polytechnic University to measure their well-being by putting speakers that played various bird songs along some sections of a hiking trial network. The researchers then interviewed the hikers about their various experiences.
These hikers that heard more sounds and various sounds maintained that they enjoyed their hiking and felt better than hikers that heard fewer sounds.
