Stephen and Ayesha Curry have been serving meals to the needy amid the coronavirus pandemic. These two are elite members of the glittering basketball royalty of the NBA. They have been giving back to society by helping the needy.
When the pandemic hit the economy last summer, Stephen and Ayesha Curry launched the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in partnership with the Oakland Unified School District and Alameda County Community Food Bank to help get rid of food insecurity for families who cannot feed themselves.
We know the world is changing before our eyes in terms of dealing with the spread of coronavirus and we just found out that the Oakland Unified School District is closing the doors for the foreseeable future, so we want to intercede on behalf of the kids that rely on the daily services and try to help any way we can.Stephen Curry

Since the inception of this initiative, it has expanded so well. Steph and Ayesha’s foundation has been serving 4,000 to 300,000 meals per week. Over 15 million meals have been distributed so far. Eat. Learn, Play. Isn’t just about serving meals, it also gives the economy financial support of about $20 million. This has resulted in the rehiring of over 900 Oakland restaurant workers.
According to the restaurant operations lead of the World Central kitchen, it is like the foundation is feeding restaurants to ensure they feed the community.
