A rescue dog has finally gotten a home after he has spent a decade in a shelter. Although Wiggles the care and love she needed at her animal shelter in Godfrey, Illinois, for 11 years, the female pit bull never had a family.
Wiggles’s life is about to change as she has finally been adopted at age 14. Karla Crane, a dog trainer at 5As animal shelter maintained that the adoptive family was perfect for Wiggles.
Crane said Wiggles was brought to the 5As shelter at age 3 in 2010. At first, Wiggles wasn’t always friendly, Crane said. Wiggles warmed up to people later. However, another problem came up when she was diagnosed with a benign tumor the size of a golf ball.
Families didn’t want to adopt Wiggles because of the health issue she had and food allergies that created expenses for medication. For more than 10 years, the shelter provided all medications, special food, and veterinary visits Wiggles needed.
This rescue dog now lives in Missouri with a couple that has lost two dogs to cancer. This couple is ready to give Wiggles all she ever needs. Crane maintains that she has been in contact with her new family.
