A 9-year-old girl who happened to lost her baseball collection in California’s Fresno County Creek Fire. Reese Osterberg who is a fan of baseball was devastated lose her home.
Resse’s baseball collection which she had been gathering for three years was lost to the flames. Fortunately, the Fresno County Fire crew heard about Reese’s story and they decided to help her. Words quickly went on Facebook, asking if anyone could help this little girl by donating some of their cards.
When San Jose’s Kevin Ashford saw the post on social media. He decided he would donate what he in the garage. He felt it was a good idea to donate them rather than sell them on eBay. He then decided to put a smile on a little girl’s face.
Kevin who had been amassing his baseball card collection since the 1990s was able to donate a few to this 9-year-old girl. Resse is very glad as she wasn’t expecting such a donation. It is really good news for her.
With the recent happenings in these hard times, the least we can do is help people around us if we can. Kevin has just put a smile on a little girl’s face and this really meant a lot to 9-year-old Resse.
