An ancient fertility amulet has been discovered in Israel by an eleven-year-old boy. Zvi Ben-David went for a hike when he noticed something out of the ordinary. The artifact which he discovered is an ancient fertility amulet that has spent 2,500 years.

The statue which is 2,36 inches wide and 2.75 inches tall depicts a woman with a bare breast. This ancient amulet symbolized good luck during the late First Temple Period; this amulet is believed to bring protection and prosperity.
Miriam, Ben-David’s mother is a tour guide. On realizing what her son found and the historic symbol, she informed the IAA about her son’s discovery. IAA was happy about this rare discovery.
According to the IAA, what 11-year-old Zvi Ben-David discovered will help people to understand cultic practices and why men need material human personifications.
This statue was probably utilized in the Persian period or the Iron Age. Figurines like this must have been used during different historical periods in Israel. They were seen in homes and also became part of people’s every day life.
Zvi Ben-David isn’t the first person to make such an archaeological discovery. A thirteen-year-old discovered a stone burial inscription in Israel in 2020. Other little children have also found rare artifacts in Israel.
